Frankfort is the capital of Kentucky, and you should definitely visit the Capitol and the historic district.

We’re celebrating: mountain gorilla twins born in the DR Congo
Twins in mountain gorillas are extremely rare, occurring in only one percent of known births.
We’ve only seen a handful of cases in the gorillas we monitor, protect and study in Rwanda, making this event all the more special. While Mafuko, the mother of the twins, is not among the gorillas we monitor, we are thrilled: every infant born helps the tiny mountain gorilla population expand. “Right now, mountain gorillas are the only great ape on the planet besides humans whose numbers are increasing,” says Dr. Tara Stoinski, President & CEO/Chief Scientific Officer of the Fossey Fund.

Magnificent lights

If you're in Kentucky's capital city, you absolutely must visit the Capitol. Even though it was covered in scaffolding in this case, it was still impressive.
Frankfort is the capital city of the U.S. state of Kentucky. It is a home rule-class city and the seat of Franklin County.As of the 2020 census, the population was 28,602, making it the 13th-largest city in Kentucky and 4th-smallest U.S. state capital by population. Located along the Kentucky River in the Upland South, Frankfort is the principal city of the Frankfort, Kentucky micropolitan area, which includes all of Franklin and Anderson counties.

Barfuß im Park

Am 15. Januar 2026 hatte ich mal wieder die Gelegenheit, die Komödie im Marquardt in Stuttgart zu besuchen. Das Besondere, bzw. den historischen Background dieses Theaters habe ich ja bereits in meinem Text zu „Bei mir warst du schön“ angedeutet.
Ich liebe dieses kleine, aber feine Theater! Die Lage ist super, das Ambiente überschaubar und ohne Schnickschnack. Die Räumlichkeiten um den eigentlichen Saal sind klein, so dass sich vor der Vorstellung und in der Pause ein Gedränge nicht verhindern lässt. Aber das erlebt man anderswo auch.
Diesmal besuchte ich das Theaterstück „ Barfuß im Park“.
Schon lange wollte ich dieses Stück auf der Bühne erleben, nachdem ich bisher nur die Filmversion der erfolgreichen gleichnamigen Broadway-Komödie von 1967 mit Robert Redford und Jane Fonda in den Hauptrollen kenne.
Es dauerte gerade mal zwei Minuten, dann war ich schon verzaubert vom Charme der Inszenierung.
Ja, es ist eine leichte Komödie. Anspruchsvolle Unterhaltung sieht vermutlich anders aus. Aber es kommt nicht von Ungefähr, dass diese Komödie eines der erfolgreichsten Broadway-Stücke ist.
Auch weil es in diesem Stück inhaltlich um etwas geht, was wohl die meisten Menschen kennen. Reibereien und Missverständnisse in einer Beziehung. In diesem Fall eines gerade frisch verheiratetem Paares, dass recht schnell merkt, dass die Flitterwochen nicht das wirkliche Leben sind.
