Fotografie

Because my wife's family is spread across the country, we met in Fulda, Hesse.
It was a wonderful gathering in a charming city steeped in history, especially in religious matters.
And even though it was during Carnival season, it was still relaxed and restful.
I'll definitely visit this city again, when it's a bit warmer and sunnier.

The Tennessee State Capitol, located in Nashville, Tennessee, is the seat of government for the U.S. state of Tennessee. It serves as the home of both houses of the Tennessee General Assembly–the Tennessee House of Representatives and the Tennessee Senate–and also contains the governor's office. Designed by architect William Strickland (1788–1854) of Philadelphia and Nashville, it was built between 1845 and 1859 and is one of Nashville's most prominent examples of Greek Revival architecture. The building, one of 12 state capitols that does not have a dome, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and named a National Historic Landmark in 1971. The tomb of James K. Polk, the 11th president of the United States, is on the capitol grounds.
As with all U.S. government facilities, we received a warm welcome. In addition to the free guided tour, we also had plenty of time to explore the building independently.

A visit to the Wilhelma Stuttgart is always nice.
This time a snow leopard finally showed up and posed in front of my lens. A lovely experience!
And then there was also a lovely exhibition of poinsettias. And I always thought poinsettias were boring. That was definitely false.
And of course there is more to see.

Acworth is a charming small town in the state of Georgia, USA, located about 50 kilometers northwest of Atlanta. It is situated in Cobb County and is often referred to as "The Lake City" due to its proximity to two major lakes: Lake Acworth and Lake Allatoona. These lakes offer numerous recreational activities such as swimming, boating, fishing, and hiking.
The town features a historic downtown area with well-preserved buildings, cozy cafés, restaurants, and boutiques that provide a glimpse into the region's heritage. Acworth is known for its friendly community, family-oriented atmosphere, and a blend of tradition and modernity. Regular cultural events and festivals take place here, including the famous Taste of Acworth and the Acworth Art Fest.
With its proximity to the Atlanta metropolitan area, Acworth offers a peaceful, nature-filled environment while maintaining access to urban amenities. The town also has a growing economy and high-quality infrastructure, making it a popular place to live.
I visited Acworth just before Halloween. So of course I took some photos of the decorations.
I particularly liked the lakes around Acworth. They are easily accessible on foot from the historic old town.
