We’re celebrating: mountain gorilla twins born in the DR Congo
Twins in mountain gorillas are extremely rare, occurring in only one percent of known births.
We’ve only seen a handful of cases in the gorillas we monitor, protect and study in Rwanda, making this event all the more special. While Mafuko, the mother of the twins, is not among the gorillas we monitor, we are thrilled: every infant born helps the tiny mountain gorilla population expand. “Right now, mountain gorillas are the only great ape on the planet besides humans whose numbers are increasing,” says Dr. Tara Stoinski, President & CEO/Chief Scientific Officer of the Fossey Fund.

It is very important to me to support the continued existence of the magnificent mountain gorillas. That is why I support the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. This is only possible if the people in this area are also given ongoing help. With education and support.
Here I am showing the current December newsletter with interesting information.
